A couple months ago a good friend of mine asked me if I had already bought a baby book to document my pregnancy and all of the details you don’t want to forget once the baby arrives. It hadn’t even crossed my mind at that point, I think I was still in shock that I was actually having a baby! It was something that I was probably going to add to my gift registry down the road. She told me about Mushybooks, this fabulous new local company that was creating the most gorgeous modern baby books, bound in white leather and had NO sheep, storks or pink and blue in sight! It sounded just like my style and I had to get my hands on one.
Choosing a theme was really hard, as the creator, Lesley, has so many stylish options. I chose the Dreamcatcher, a perfect mix of simple yet modern pages with black and white graphic images. As soon as you open the book, you can tell the quality is amazing. Nice thick pages bound together with removable screws so that you can add pages as you go. Take a look at the rest of the themes here.
I had so much fun sitting down to fill it out. It was really nice to write down important details of my pregnancy so far and reflect on how I have been feeling throughout all three trimesters. One of my favorite pages to complete was traits the baby will inherit from mommy and daddy. I loved coming up with characteristics that I think our baby will get from both my husband and I.
I am also looking forward to filling my Mushybook with photos I’ve taken with my new Canon Rebel SL1 Camera. Canon has created an easy to use App called Plan Your Baby Moments. The App has an organized collection of key photo opportunities by age within your baby’s first year. Just choose a month to find which moments and details are the best to capture within that age range. Amazing how-to instructions, with lighting and backdrop tips and tricks to help you take amazing baby photos with your Canon! I already love using the Canon Rebel SL1 for VONBON product shots so I am really excited to start using it come November to capture all of our baby’s little details.
A surprise keepsake envelope in the back of every book allows you to stash away cards and mementos you can share with your baby once they are older. And how adorable is this little envelope for their first lock of hair??! Include a photo of their very first hair cut too!
Has your little one already arrived? Start using the Plan your baby moments app and let me know how you like it with a comment below. I’d love to hear ideas, tips or tricks that worked for you!
