Back in October I asked my friend Kristina, from The Swank Social, to help me plan the perfect party to celebrate our Baby’s arrival. The concept of the event was to bring together all of my closest girlfriends, enjoy a lovely sit down lunch, chat the afternoon away while enjoying some amazing treats. A lovely afternoon filled with friends, love and of course some amazing sweets and decor! 😉
Since we knew we were expecting a baby girl, I wanted it to be simple, clean and feminine with a soft palette of white, cream, grey, gold and blush. Hello World was the theme I had in mind and Kristina and I had so much fun planning and pinning ideas. We started with a custom invitation as a jumping off point. My sister, Kristin, from Studio 86 Creative Design, helped me to create the perfect invitation and even incorporated one of my feather images, exclusively designed by me for the VONBON collection.
The next key element of the shower was a white vintage dresser that has been kept in my family for years. My mother passed it down to me, as she used it in my nursery and changed me on it. I have now used it in my daughters nursery. It was the perfect piece to showcase the gorgeous naked cake created by Tessa, from Sweet Bake Shop. The Cake topper script was created by the talented Brenny at Paperfelt and handcut by Kristina herself.
I provided my friend Julie, from the Whisk, with the invitation and my due date. She created the sweetest and most detailed custom cookies using our Hello World theme. Included where blush onesies, and a little calendar with my due date of November 13. They couldn’t have been more perfect, or more tasty! Powdered sugar donuts sat in each of the dresser drawers atop cold glass bottles of milk.
The long table was dressed down the center with a kraft paper runner, milk glass vases filled with fresh blooms from The Flower Factory, and 3 big white balloons from my friend Cindy at Confetti and Sparkle Shop. She also provided the big gold mylar balloons that spelt BABY above the buffet table.
Studio 86 Creative Design worked with me to create the fun place cards at each setting. Guests were asked to fill out which day they thought the baby would make her big debut, characteristics she would receive from her Mother, and kind gestures or words of advice. They made amazing keepsakes for our baby book, and a great record of everyone that was there to celebrate our baby girl that day.
Karla, from Written Word Caligraphy, did a fabulous job on the vintage framed chalk board sign that was provided by Bespoke Decor. It was a great way to display the hashtag we chose to allow all of our guests to share their favorite moments and aspects of the shower while it was happening. It was so lovely going through all of the photos on Instagram after the party. Take a look at #hellobabywilson for even more amazing photos.
My dear friend Pippa, from Petite Puf, was on site to spin up some delicious organic cotton candy. With flavors like Chai and Strawberry Vanilla, it was so hard to choose what to indulge in! Looking for a new spin on the same old party? Contact Petite Puf for your next event!
All of the gorgeous paper fans and tissue paper garlands were handmade by Kristina. They put the perfect touch on the all white space and added a whimsical element. Did you know you can purchase her handmade items on Etsy? Click here to shop her collections!
Overall, it couldn’t have turned out more perfect! I hope these photos inspire you to create the shower of your dreams. Feel free to Pin away and if you need any help pulling it all together, all of our fabulous vendors and sources are also listed below.
